1. Who we are

chooseacarer.co.uk is operated by the company named on our legal information page (“we”, “us”). Using this site means accepting these terms.

2. What this site is

An information site and a free introduction service. We are not a care provider, a care agency, a nursing service or a financial adviser. We do not provide, arrange, supervise or pay for care.

3. Information, not advice

Information here about types of care, costs and funding is general guidance, correct to the best of our knowledge on the date shown on each page. Funding rules differ between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and change over time. Nothing here replaces a needs assessment from the local council, advice from a health professional, or regulated financial advice. If someone is at risk of harm, contact the local council’s adult social care team or, in an emergency, 999.

4. The introduction service

If you send a care request, it is passed to our care-matching partner, which shares it with independent home care providers covering the postcode you gave.

• We do not vet, inspect, endorse or supervise those providers, and we do not check their registration or inspection ratings. Check both with the regulator before agreeing anything.
• Any agreement for care is solely between you (or the person receiving care) and the provider. We are not a party to it, take no commission on it, and cannot enforce it or settle a dispute about it.
• We cannot guarantee that any provider will contact you, how many will, or that any will have availability.
• The details you give must be accurate, and you must be entitled to share them — including those of the person needing care.

5. Acceptable use

Do not submit false or malicious requests, scrape the site, attempt to interfere with it, or reuse its content commercially without permission. We may withdraw access for misuse.

6. Intellectual property

The content and design of this site are ours or licensed to us. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use with a link back.

7. Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Subject to that, the site is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for care provided by a provider you were introduced to through us, or for decisions taken on general information here rather than professional advice.

Links to regulators and other sites are for reference. We are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement.

9. Changes, law and jurisdiction

We may change these terms; the current version is always on this page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, save that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
